Breakout singer/songwriter/guitarist, Ty Myers, announced The Select Tour – a national headline run kicking off in January 2025, with dates currently scheduled through May.
The 17-year-old artist also shared a bluesy but carefree new song called “Can’t Hold Me Down” – the latest track released from his hugely anticipated debut album, The Select (due out January 24 via RECORDS Nashville/Columbia).
As he continues his rapid rise to music stardom, Myers is likewise sharing the video trailer for The Select¬ – a 16-song powerhouse showcasing the Texas native’s timeless songwriting, stunning guitar skills, and irresistibly soulful vocals. Check out The Select¬ trailer here. With Myers marking 14 writing credits in total – 12 being solo-penned songs, go here to pre-save/pre-add The Select, and pre-order the CD & Vinyl Edition (out 3/28/25) here.
An unstoppable talent now notching 9 MILLION streams per week, Myers fully leans into his love for classic Soul and Blues on “Can’t Hold Me Down” (the follow-up to his wildly popular ballad “Ends of the Earth”). Beginning with captivating guitar work, the track spotlights his warm yet gritty vocal presence as Myers opens up about the more grueling aspects of the musician’s life: “Been tearin’ up this black top road / Puttin’ miles on a broke down van / Countin’ miles ’til I get home / I wanna sleep in my own bed”. From there, the song takes on a smoldering intensity as his attention turns to the woman who’s stolen his heart, easing into an ultra-smooth groove that blends beautifully with Myers’ laid-back vocal flow. Graced with soul-stirring organ tones and simmering horns, “Can’t Hold Me Down” perfectly captures the endless tension between true love and an unshakable passion for life on the road: “When it comes to a ramblin’ man / Baby, I hold the crown / Might hang around here for a little while / It's off to the next town / But you cannot, you cannot, you cannot hold me down”.
A first-rate live performer who’s shared the stage with Willie Nelson, served as support for Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers Band, and recently completed his own SOLD-OUT Let ‘Em Talk Tour (his debut headline run), Myers will launch The Select Tour on January 16 at the Haute Spot in Cedar Park, TX, including a run through the Midwest, including The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee on Friday, March 28th.
A lifelong musician who grew up on a cattle ranch and started penning songs as a small child, Myers first revealed his tremendous songwriting chops on his 2023 debut single “Tie That Binds.” With his eclectic influences including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Otis Redding, and George Strait, he created The Select in collaboration with the likes of Brandon Hood (a producer/engineer/multi-instrumentalist who’s worked with Luke Bryan, Niko Moon, and Mickey Guyton), instilling each track with his poignant storytelling and powerful musicianship. Along with “Can’t Hold Me Down,” “Tie That Binds,” and “Ends of the Earth” (hailed by Holler for its Stapleton-esque ambience” and “enchanting intimacy”), The Select features standouts like “Drinkin’ Alone” (a heavyhearted slow-burner that’s surpassed 52 MILLION streams), and “Worry is a Sickness” (a late-summer release built on a hypnotic backdrop of airy slide, steady drums, and fiery blues guitar).
