Kidd G, who grew up in the quaint town of Hamilton, Georgia (population 1,130), first gained recognition online through platforms like TikTok and SoundCloud, where he began sharing songs recorded with his friend Nolie Beats. In the spring of 2020, his unique talents caught the eye of Rebel Music, leading to a record deal. His early tracks, including the debut single “Sorry,” leaned towards traditional hip-hop, but he later infused elements of classic country into his songwriting. As he continued to share his music on SoundCloud, Kidd G quickly built a loyal fanbase attracted to his authentic charm and the relatable nature of his lyrics. Exploring his country roots further, he created “Dirt Road”—a nostalgic ballad that went viral, amassing over 5 million views on YouTube within just a month. “I love country because it feels so natural to me, and you can really tell stories in the songs,” Kidd G shares, citing Hank Williams Jr. as one of his musical influences. Now boasting over 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, his music has received airplay from KIXX Country Radio in Australia and has reached impressive positions on popular country playlists. As his single “Summer In A Small Town” gains momentum on country radio, Kidd G has also released his debut album, DOWN HOME BOY, following a recent collaboration with Big Machine Label Group’s The Valory Music Co.
