Message From Tom Morello:
"After Bruce joined me last month in Minneapolis for our “Defend Minnesota” charity concert, I was reminded how important our platform is, and how crucial the resistance work is that our music can do together at this dangerous historical juncture. Together, Bruce, the E Street Band, and I are going to turn a spotlight on the current threats to democracy and human rights happening all around us on the “Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour” in the spirit of freedom, justice, and rock n roll. I have a deep love and respect for all my friends, fans & comrades, and I’m sorry that I need to reschedule my solo shows and cancel my festival appearances in May. I promise that we will find a way to be together for these shows, in these towns, very soon."
Grammy-winning, Harvard-educated, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame–inducted artist, songwriter, and activist Tom Morello is living proof of the transformative power of rock’n’roll. Known for his innovative guitar solos and thunderous chords, Morello is a groundbreaking artist both in his solo career and as an original member of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, two acts responsible for multiple Grammy Awards and a combined 30 million albums sold worldwide. His trademark style was a crucial component of Rage Against the Machine’s Grammy-winning, multi-platinum success, earning him recognition by Rolling Stone Magazine as the 18th Greatest Guitar Player of All Time and subsequent induction into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Metal Hall of Fame. Beyond his work with two multi-million-selling bands, Morello’s signature guitar has also been heard in the supergroup Prophets of Rage and during his six-year stint with Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. Most recently, he has been rolling out his first solo rock project, with the latest single “Pretend You Remember Me,” an anthem written in solidarity with the immigrant community in partnership with the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA).
Morello is also a vocal political activist, with his first solo outing released under the name the Nightwatchman. He is frequently found on the front lines of pickets and strikes across the country, most recently in solidarity with the United Mine Workers of America in Brookwood, Alabama, the United Farm Workers of America in Sacramento, California, and the Star Garden Strippers Union in North Hollywood, California. He is the 2023 Music Will Humanitarian of the Year recipient, sponsoring multiple music education programs for schools in need, and serves as an ACLU Artist for Smart Justice in support of criminal justice reform. In addition, he can be heard weekly on SiriusXM as the host of his show One Man Revolution.
